Simple Salt and Pepper Squid | 椒盐鱿鱼




Ingredients :
  • Squid 
  • Garlic - 2 cloves 
  • 1 piece of red chili 
  • Scallion 
  • Salt - 1 tsp
  • Black & ground white Pepper - 1 tsp
  • Cornstarch 

Procedure :

1) Firstly, is to clean and cut the squid. 
2) Add some salt (1/2 tsp) and black and white pepper (1/2) to prep the squid. I mix the black pepper with ground white pepper (you can put only black pepper but I want to try out spicyness and the aroma from both) 

3) Patted dry the squid with paper towel.
4) Cut the garlic and minced it.
5) Cut the red chili and scallion. 
6) Ready to fry. Pour some oil into the pan. 
7) Can put in the squid with coated cornstarch and fry.
8) Fry until golden brown. 
9) Then use the strainer to separate the squid from the oil. Pour on to paper towel to dry out the oilyness.
10) I use back the same pan after wash and clean. Just pour a little bit of oil will do.
11) Fry the garlic, red chili and scallion. 
12) Add the fried squid and toss well.
13) Add some salt (1/2 tsp) and pepper (1/2 tsp) to taste.
14) Toss awhile and is ready!!
